Glass pour with confidence, without waste- FAQs

Resus your wine sales - fresh glass everytime & low chance of ullage

Serve fresh, premium quality glass pours without offending your customers with oxidised wine or your accountant with excessive waste through spoilage.  How much are you losing as customers increasingly avoid wine for fear of being served skank?  Win them back with a low barrier to experiment.

Where does this sit on the winelist?

It's premium wine with a good story.  Crucially, you're selling the wine not the bottle.  The 500mL format gives you confidence to do glass pours that are fresh and alive, without wasting wine.  Crack the bottle, serve a fresh glass everytime.  The ulleage risk is one glass. It sits alongside premium 750mL wines, not in a novelty or convenience category. The positioning is quality-first.

Who is the target customer?

Glass pours for > "touch and go" diners > people "in for one"  > non-commital types-blind dates, new to wine, unfamiliar with the brand... > experimenters who want a little of many rather than a lot of one ...

How does this benefit my business?

Avoid ullage and the resulting waste/cost entailed.
Improve customer experience with consistently fresh, premium wine - no more serving skank.  It gives you a narrative around moderation and quality to engage your customers and it helps demonstrate your innovation and alignment of customers' worlds.

We intend that this helps recover customers' love for wine by making the choice easier - lower upfront cost, for high quality wine.

Isn't the price per mL higher?

Nope.  We've priced at the same per litre price as our 750mL formats. This is premium wine. We think price/quality is exceptional.  This is the investment we are making to create a sustainable wine brand that people appreciate and value.

 Does this cannibalise 750mL?

We hope it lowers the bar to experiencing something new, and to re-normalising drinking wine in general.  It makes it simpler for you to bring people back to wine as the magnificent beverage that it is. This will lead to a purchase of a standard bottle and, we hope, more wine sales by volume.  We see the 500mL as a gentle, low barrier wine win-back format.

What Our Customers Say

Great wine requires a mad man to grow the wine a wise woman to watch over it, a lucid poet

... from a conversation with an owner of a "cutting edge" venue

"Customers won't get it.  Too confusing".   He hadn't understood that this is a glass pour play.  By all means sell a bottle at table.  And certainly locate the bottle on the shelf in view of the dinning room.  This is intended to allow safe glass pours for venues that otherwise struggle to do so given cost (waste) and customer experience worries.
