30 Aug 2023 - Late Winter ...

Writer: Brent EddyBrent Eddy

An end to winter pruning is in sight.  With the help of a local crew, we have been able to whip through our vineyards, with enough time to correct pruning errors of previous years along the way.  Of course, this would be too easy.  So against better judgement perhaps, we have agreed to help a couple of nearby vineyards who found themselves without support. They faced the real prospect of discontinuing operations & converting vineyards to pasture.  It did not seem right to allow this, especially given the heritage & story of these two well-loved operations.  So we will do what we can.  Will share information about this in time.

Meanwhile, motoring along to complete a Chardonnay vineyard we're leasing; prepping equipment for the looming frost & spray season; and fretting about how to sell enough wine to pay for it all!
